Description : Ouham province is a part of the country that has only recently enjoyed relative peace. In 2007, following attacks from armed men, villages were looted and deserted. Villagers fled to neighboring villages or deep in the bush while some ventured to neighboring Chad for refuge. In this part of the country the ICRC and the Central African Red Cross are working to help people settle back into their villages. This is why the ICRC is both building and rehabilitating wells for the villagers.
